Who I am ?
Jessica Vial
Climate scientist, consultant and trainer
Graduated with a Ph.D. from the University of East Anglia (UK) in Environmental science and climate physics in 2012, I worked for 15 years as a researcher specialized in the study of atmospheric processes involved in global warming, particularly those related to clouds. I have published over twenty research papers in international journals, traveling around the world, collaborating with universities and research institutes in New Zealand, England, Germany, USA, and France. In 2021, I was a contributing author to the 6th IPCC report on the physical basis of climate change (Working Group I).
Concerned by the climate crisis, and noting the strong inertia of our societies with regard to the economic and social transformations required, I reoriented my career in 2022 towards science outreach and training. After completing a vocational training in this field and working for a foundation promoting climate change education in primary and secondary schools, I have created my own science outreach and training agency to make high-quality climate information accessible to a wide range of audiences. My aim is to give everyone the means to make tailored decisions and act in an informed and thoughtful way.
My values
By cultivating a scientific culture of climate change.
By mastering the tools and methods of research.
By exercising critical thinking regarding the interpretative limitations of scientific results and the arguments put forward by stakeholders, whose interests may sometimes diverge.
We empower ourselves to advocate for a social and ecological transformation for the common good.
